Chat and online conference tools for schools, new features added to Desk GIGA School Edition

　Information security solutions provider Digital Arts Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Toshio Dogu; hereinafter referred to as “Digital Arts”; Code 2326) will add two new features to its chat and online conferencing tool Desk GIGA School Edition, which provides safe and secure communication for teachers and students. "Usage time limits" and "Google Workspace integration" will be available from December 25.

Desk GIGA School Edition offers features to keep track of bullying and trouble among students

　Utilizing our know-how, expertise, and track record in the security field, including with the product i-FILTER, we at Digital Arts entered the communication field on June 21, 2023 with the Desk chat and online conferencing tool. Developed in Japan, Desk offers an intuitive UI and security features that take information leaks into account.

　Two editions of Desk are available, the regular edition and the GIGA School Edition. The Desk GIGA School Edition enables safe and secure communication among teachers and students. While the one device per student initiative has worked to promote collaborative learning, many schools have banned the use of chats despite the ease of communication they provide due to concerns around issues among students and the burden placed on teachers to deal with said issues.
　Desk GIGA School Edition has a protection feature that detects, controls and notifies teachers of possible cyberbullying messages, curbing issues between students and allowing teachers to respond quickly in the event of an emergency.

New features provide a more comfortable and safe environment for communication

　Digital Arts has added two new features to its chat and online conferencing tool Desk GIGA School Edition*: Usage time limits and Google Workspace integration. The usage time limit feature limits the hours when teachers and students can use chats, preventing teachers from working long hours and students from using chat rooms late at night. The Google Workspace integration feature enables users of Desk to synchronize their accounts with Google Workspace, reducing administrative work.

　By installing Desk GIGA School Edition in schools, it is possible to safely and smoothly provide schools and clubs with communication tools, as well as develop communication skills, such as exchanging opinions among students and providing support for students not attending school.
　In addition, when used in conjunction with i-FILTER@Cloud GIGA School Edition, a web security product that ensures safe and secure internet use, both products are offered at a more affordable price.

　Digital Arts plans to further enhance product features in order to provide a more comfortable and safe environment for communication at schools.
