Digital Arts Releases Case Study of f-FILTER Implemented at Alfateccs That Supports Back-Office Operations
— —f-FILTER protects important customer information without compromising security for convenience— —

Information security solutions provider Digital Arts Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Toshio Dogu; hereinafter referred to as "Digital Arts"; Code 2326) is pleased to announce that on August 20, it released a case study of the introduction of Digital Arts' DLP and file transfer service f-FILTER by Alfateccs Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Haru Ishikawa).

Protecting Customer Information Assets and Providing Safe and Secure Services

Alfateccs has three primary businesses: Consulting services, business process outsourcing (BPO), and IT services, all of which utilize its strengths in tech and on-site capabilities to improve and support the back-office operations of companies.
Since its establishment in 1987, the company has been committed to 100% direct business with clients and provides services that are integrated with the client's network by taking every measure to ensure the security of information assets for its continued offering of high-quality, technically advanced, safe and secure services.
Recently, they also developed internal operation rules in line with the framework of an organization's information protection processes that were changed in accordance with the revision to ISO 27001. Additionally, Alfateccs carefully selects internal systems to ensure that all customer data is sufficiently protected.

Smarter, Safer File Transfers with f-FILTER

Alfateccs introduced Digital Arts' web security product i-FILTER@Cloud and email security product m-FILTER@Cloud in 2018, followed by the m-FILTER@Cloud attachment encryption option in 2021 as security countermeasures to PPAP, a zip file transfer method. The attachment encryption option allows users to use certain features of our security product FinalCode that automatically encrypt file attachments when sending them via email. The feature allows for secure data transfer by only allowing authorized recipients to open and view the attachment.

Following this, when the DLP and file transfer service f-FILTER was released, Alfateccs took the opportunity to switch to it in 2024 and is hoping to use it for smarter file transfers on all employee computers. f-FILTER provides five leak prevention features that ensure the protection of important information and the secure transfer of files.
Alfateccs were impressed by f-FILTER's ability to send attachment downloads as a URL, a format which the company had long wanted to utilize, and how it made transferring files easier for both senders and receivers while ensuring the same level of security as the attachment encryption option of m-FILTER@Cloud.
Additionally, while they were initially considering using just the f-FILTER optional version, what made them finally adopt the full version was the email DLP and file identification features unavailable in the optional version, and the fact that the service may be integrated with i-FILTER@Cloud in the future.

Two Transfer Options Depending on File Size

Alfateccs uses two ways to transfer files depending on the file size: One is by email using m-FILTER@Cloud and the other is by uploading files to f-FILTER.
For smaller files, they utilize an email-based file transfer system that temporarily stores the email in m-FILTER@Cloud while it is judged to be sent or not by the company’s preset rules and scanned by DLP and file identification features for important information. The email will only be sent after these checks.
For large files that cannot be sent as attachments, such as system development testing data, they upload them to f-FILTER. When uploading files, there are four checks: DLP, file identification, supervisor approval, and an anti-virus scan. Additionally, even after files are sent, viewing permissions can be temporarily revoked and access logs, etc. can be checked, ensuring that any sensitive information is safe and secure.

Simple Setup and Usability for Smoother Operation

Having used i-FILTER@Cloud and m-FILTER@Cloud in the past, Alfateccs was familiar with how to use the f-FILTER management screen, meaning that they did not have to learn from scratch. They praised the easy initial setup, the less amount of effort it takes by administrators to check logs, and simpler, less cluttered and easier-to-understand UI than other systems.

Handling important customer data themselves, Alfateccs said Digital Arts' products have worked well for them as they win the confidence of clients and reassure them of a high level of security.
